How to choose 3M 8210CN or 3M 8210 Masks?

How to choose 3M 8210CN or 3M 8210 Masks?

  1.About 3M 8210 Version questions:

Due to the different origin and sales area, the packaging is slightly different. The non-oily particle defense efficiency of the following models can reach more than 95%. Customers who do not have special requirements are shipped randomly.

Chinese version: 8210CN is produced in Singapore or South Korea, in line with China's KN95 standard. (The filtration efficiency of non-oily particles is greater than 95%)

Asia-Pacific version: 8210 is produced in Singapore or South Korea, in line with the US N95 standard. (The filtration efficiency of non-oily particles is greater than 95%)

Japanese version: 8210J is made in Japan and complies with the Japanese DS2 standard. (The filtration efficiency of non-oily particles is greater than 99%)

American version: 8210/8210PLUS/07048 is made in the United States and complies with the US N95 standard. (The filtration efficiency of non-oily particles is greater than 95%)

2.About the difference between 8210 and 8210PLUS upgrade version:

①: 8210 Plus covers a larger area than 8210 (8210PLUS diameter is about 0.5CM larger than 8210).

②: 8210 uses a hard rubber headband, 8210Plus upgraded to nylon rope headband is more comfortable.

③: 8210 Plus uses a new type of honeycomb antistatic filter fabric to greatly improve the breathability and comfort of the mask.

Let us talk some about basic knowledge of protective masks:

What are droplet prevention measures?

Droplet prevention is to prevent the spread of infectious materials, large-particle droplets, and aerosols at close range (3 feet away) by wearing surgical masks or higher protective efficiency masks. These droplets are usually generated when a patient coughs and blows their nose.

What is BFE?

BFE is Bacterial Filtration Efficiency, which measures the efficiency of masks to filter bacteria.

What is PFE?

PFE is Particulate Filtration Efficiency, which measures the efficiency of mask filtering particles.

What is Delta P (AP) (Breathability)?

Breathability is the pressure difference through the mask, the unit is mm H2O/cm2, Delta P high means that it is more difficult to breathe when wearing the mask.

What is liquid impedance?

It is defined as the construction of the material to reduce liquid penetration and contact with the user. Fluid resistance can reduce blood and body fluids exposed to sprays, splashes and splashes. At present, ASTM 160mm Hg fluid resistance test is generally adopted.

Masks certification standard

The meaning of the so-called "N 95" is the dust masks certified by the United States NIOSH N95, for 0.3μm (micron) suspended particles, the filtering effect reaches 95%.

In addition to referring to the specifications of the American industrial dust masks, you can also refer to the similar regulations and standards of the European Union and Japan as a reference for purchasing masks.

①The EU standard classification is FFP1 FFP2 FFP3

②Australia classified as P1 P2 P3

③Japanese standard classification is DS1 DS2 DS3

④American standard classification is N95 N99 N100, R95 R99 R100, P95 P99 P100

⑤Chinese standard classification is KN90 KN95 KN100, KP90 KP95 KP100

The meaning of letters and numbers

Since most bacteria exceed 0.3 microns and the size of the droplets is more than 10 microns, the surgical masks used by medical staff are mainly to avoid the spread of germs in mouth foam and sneezes of medical workers. The filter 0.3 μm (micron ) The capacity of suspended particles is 66% to 76%. Normal surgical masks can filter out any particles with a diameter of 0.5 microns or more. N 9 5 masks can filter out particles with a diameter of 0.3 microns or more. . The N100 mask can filter out particles with a diameter of more than 0.1 microns.

Countries including the United States, the European Union, Australia, and Japan all have certification standards.

For the USA as an example, The National Institute for Occupational Safety and H e a l t h,N I O S H

There are three levels of N, R, and P, and the test conditions are strict.

Level N stands for No Resistant to Oil, which means that the filter material cannot be used in environments containing oil and gas;

The R grade represents Resistant to Oil, which means that the filter material has the ability to isolate oil and gas within 8 hours;

P-class represents Oil Proof, which means that it can completely isolate oil and gas.

The filtration efficiency of each level can be divided into three levels of 95-98 and 100,

N-95 means that more than 95% of the particles can be captured at any time during the test,

N-99 can capture 99% of particles,

N-100 can capture 99.97% of particles, and so on for other grades.

In addition, biological particles are general particles rather than oily particles, there is no need to use R-grade and P-grade oil filters.

At this special time, ordinary people only need to use general surgical masks. Protective masks above N95 can also be used if possible. The most important thing is to wash your hands frequently.
